Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Resident
Experience required – twelve months required, preferred at least four continuous years of postgraduate clinical training with average of 50-60 patient visits per week or total of 10000 plus visits. Thorough knowledge and application of Chinese herbal formulas in Pin-yin. Thorough knowledge of at least 300 most commonly used Western medications and their interactions with Chinese herbs. Good knowledge of Western medical tests- blood, urine, x-rays, MRI”s, ultrasounds and others.
Education – Master (or higher) of Acupuncture and O.M. from ACAOM accredited US college 4 year program.
License – current NCCAOM certified diploma in O.M. and current license of Doctor of Acupuncture and O.M. in Rhode Island.
Insurance – 1/3 million aggregate liability insurance required
Work – 45-50 hours per week plus weekend training and events.
Abilities – energetic, flexible, committed, ability to treat 100 plus patients per week.
Salary – $42,099 per year
